Process Book

The Ask

The Ask ❦

For this project, I was tasked with creating a process book that defines my personal brand—establishing my career intention, documenting the inspirations that resonate with me visually, and translating those insights into a clear brand direction including themes, color story, and typography.

The Process

Throughout the semester, I built my process book in stages, gradually shaping a clearer understanding of my personal brand. I started by compiling my personality tests, worksheets, and self-analysis assignments to establish a baseline of who I am as a designer. From there, I set both a semester career intention and a long-term professional goal, drawing from my Dream Jobs and Gap Analysis work. Next, I gathered a wide range of visual inspiration and reflected on what specifically drew me to each image, tracking emerging themes over time. In the final stage, I synthesized everything into a cohesive brand direction, creating slides that outlined my key takeaways along with a draft color story and typography system. The process unfolded step by step, and each phase built on the last to help define my evolving identity.

  • I compiled personality tests, worksheets, and self-analysis to better understand my strengths, preferences, and creative identity.

  • I set a semester goal and long-term career direction based on my Dream Jobs, Dream Locations, and Gap Analysis assignments.

  • I gathered visual inspiration, identified recurring themes, and translated these insights into a preliminary color story, typography system, and overall brand direction.

I thoroughly enjoyed working on this process book because it helped me understand how my personality, interests, and values can shape my future career path in fashion. By documenting each step of my creative thinking, I learned more about what inspires me and what motivates my design choices. The project also allowed me to sharpen my graphic design skills, especially in layout, visual hierarchy, and storytelling through imagery. Overall, this process book helped me grow both creatively and professionally, giving me a clearer sense of who I am as a designer and where I want to go next.
